Form, Line, and Composition

Studying the compositional techniques of old world master painters is a part of being able to make pleasing abstract photographic prints. So is being able to look at a subject and see it in a different way. The key being that in the end, the image has to be pleasing to the eye.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Most of these images will print with a white border on at least 2 sides because they were cropped for content, not to fit the variety of standard photographic paper aspect ratios.
As a plus, that gives your a frame shop some extra border to hinge the print to the mat for framing.

I highly recommend archival quality mats with the mat window cut to the dimensions of the image, not the photo paper size.

Keith Harrod

The End Of The Day

It would be nice if there were a beautiful sunset everyday. A few clouds but not to many. The clouds need to be just right; not to thick, nor to thin. No rain, no snow, and not to much wind either. Wind causes blurry images even with a tripod.

Landscapes

Amber Waves Of Grain

An American tradition. Landscape photography is a branch of photography that has been with us since cameras were invented.

Landscapes take a fair amount of equipment to make. In addition to the camera and lens you need a good steady tripod and a tripod head that can help to do panoramic images. Polarizing filters, and graduated neutral density filters are the order of the day. The best light of the day is the hour after sunup and the hour before sunset. So, you have to in place and ready to go before dawn and disassemble everything in the dark at the end of the day.

Pricing for these images is for the photographic paper size. Most of these images will print with a white border around the image because they were cropped for content, rather than to fit the constraints of standard photographic paper sizes. Additionally that allows print only purchasers frame shop to hinge the print to the mat for framing. I highly recommend archival quality mats.

Keith Harrod
